Say hello to Acmena’s newest intern – Yangyang Li.
A third-year student at The University of Queensland, Yangyang is in the process of completing a BEng (Hons) in electrical and computer engineering.
Already showing considerable potential as an up-and-coming engineer, Yangyang was awarded the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence in 2022 for achieving a GPA of 7.0.
Working out of Acmena’s Brisbane offices, Yangyang will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the application of systems engineering, requirements management and systems assurance processes from the highly experienced Cross River Rail team.
Acmena is committed to providing meaningful pathways for young engineers with various initiatives, from our internship and graduate programs to our recent Women in Engineering event, geared towards identifying and nurturing young talent.
After successfully supporting systems engineering consultant, Jordan Wong’s, progression from undergraduate intern to full time member of the Cross River Rail team, Acmena is delighted to have the opportunity to provide another up-and-coming talent with the chance to kick start what could be a very promising career.
“It’s a great time to have Yangyang join the Brisbane team,” said Acmena General Manager, Mike Bruce.
“With so much going on, there are lots of opportunities for him to gain experience and exposure to our core disciplines. Having someone has experienced and capable as Campbell Sims (Principal Systems Assurance Consultant) as a mentor, and the Cross River Rail team members providing him with guidance, I am confident that the experience and learning for all involved will be of significant value. Welcome to the team, Yangyang.”
