Congratulations to Acmena Principal Consultant, Campbell Sims, on becoming our newest certified international Engineering Safety Management (iESM) trainer.

A systems and safety assurance specialist, Campbell joined Acmena in 2020. After providing assurance services on the Cross River Rail Tunnels, Stations and Development project, Campbell is currently working with Queensland Rail’s signalling systems and assurance team.

Offering extensive experience in developing assurance deliverables across various industries and major rail projects, in addition to an in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and EN 50126/8/9 standards, trainees stand to benefit greatly from Campbell’s considerable expertise and experience.

“Having previously lectured and provided mentorship at tertiary education level, I am delighted to take on the new challenge of delivering the iESM course as a qualified trainer,” Campbell said.

“I look forward to having the opportunity to share some of the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over my 15 years in safety engineering. Hopefully the attendees will benefit from my experience on their way to becoming certified iESM practitioners themselves.”

Campbell joins Greg Newman and Andy Gabler as part of Acmena’s highly capable iESM delivery team.

The iESM safety assurance course has been specifically developed for all rail design, engineering, assurance and management professionals and is supported by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) and major Australian rail operators.

Acmena has proudly trained over 500 rail professionals, delivering almost 50 courses to various rail operators, government agencies and contractors across Australia since 2016, helping to develop safer railways along the way.
