Acmena Human Factors consultant, Eryn Grant, will be presenting a paper at the 2019 Australian System Safety Conference held at Customs House in Brisbane on May 22-24.
In accordance with the conference theme, ‘How can we be artificially safe?’, Eryn’s paper will present the core philosophies of systems thinking accident causation models and how they may be applied to recognise safety boundaries of diverse safety critical systems.
Her paper, ‘More than meets the AI: Can systems thinking leading indicators assist proactive safety in artificially intelligent systems?’ explains how integrating the core philosophies of safety, derived from leading systems thinking-based accident causation models, may assist in managing safety proactively, whereby AI ‘learning’ can be performed using a set of systems thinking leading indicators.
