Acmena is proud to announce that it has joined Australian Engineers Declare.
Currently supported by 137 organisations, AED is committed to addressing climate change and biodiversity loss by promoting the use of environmentally sustainable practices to develop systems, infrastructure and products that have a positive ecological impact.
With the Australian Government set to invest $100b into major infrastructure projects over the next decade, Acmena believes that engineers are uniquely positioned to effect positive change by advocating the use of innovative and ecologically responsible technologies, methods and materials.
“We believe climate change and biodiversity are two of the most pressing issues society faces,” said Acmena Director and Principal Consultant, Katherine Eastaughffe. “It’s an ethical imperative that engineers and allied professionals should consider public welfare in all their activities. For this reason, Acmena is pleased to follow many other engineering firms in making this commitment.”
