Katherine is an authority on engineering safety management, with over 22 years’ experience, both internationally and in Australia, and a proven track record of delivery in the fields of reliability, quality and safety.

Katherine’s background is in mathematics, computer science and formal methods, with a doctorate from Oxford University. She has extensive experience in safety-critical, software-intensive train control systems, and in-depth expertise in the application of the CENELEC standards EN 50126, 50128, 50129.

She continues to develop industry best practice in safety assurance, as an integral part of a systems engineering discipline, through training, mentoring and process development.
